The following Langston Chapel students were chosen for the Georgia Music Educator Association’s District One Honor Band:  Sabrina Ballard, French Horn, Brodie Van Wagenen, Percussion, and Yami Patterson, 1st Alternate, Alto Saxophone.  They were selected through a rigorous and competitive audition process held this past December.  Last weekend, these students were part of intense rehearsals with an outstanding guest conductor, Ms. Jill Barnocki, from Atlanta’s Mabry Middle School. Then, our LCMS students along with the best band students from our area, gave an outstanding public performance at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah.  Mrs. Lloyd, their band director is very proud of their hard work and dedication to their quest for excellence in music.  Bravo to a job well done!

Bulloch County Schools will host Open House for our pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students and their families at each of our 15 campuses on Thursday, July 30. Open House for our elementary schools will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Open House for our middle and high schools will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. This event includes the Statesboro High Pre-School, whose open house will be 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

These events are designed to give students and families time to tour our schools, meet your child's teachers, pick up important information and sign up for opportunities to serve in your child's school.

Back to School Tool Kit.jpgRemember as well that the first day of school is Monday, August 3. If you are new to our system, please register your child at your zoned school before the first day of class. This will enable us to welcome your child, have them assigned to a class(es), and prepare all the materials and services that he or she may need. Our middle and high school offices are open throughout the summer, and our elementary school offices will reopen on July 20.

See the Bulloch County Schools Website for the Back to School Toolkit.
